Review: Life Support

Life Support Life Support by Tess Gerritsen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lent with KU. Not sure wether I have read it before, but I checked, and think I did not.
A bit too much happening, but well woven intermingling threads and a little romance, some scenes might require a trigger-warning.
TR: detailed bloody scenes, birth, abuse.

For the too much happening I would give 0,5 stars less.
It is a medical thriller and the author knows what she is doing, so even though some might have looked like SF when it was written, in the 10 years since it was first published, some things have come to light, which for me shows how real the science in this book is.
Some scenes make this a little dated (payphone), but otherwise this feels not as old as it is.
So recommended, rounded up to 4 stars. If you liked her other medical standalone thrillers, you will like this one.

Review: The 7th Canon

The 7th Canon The 7th Canon by Robert Dugoni
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Lent with KU, as this is more or less a courtroom-drama, not really my kind of book, and also male MC, which I do not prefer, also I thought it might be set in our time, which is obviously not the case, so no smartphones, no social media, etc., one of the cases where should have read more about the book before lending it, at least I did not pay for it (having lent it).

Beginning with the Parrot is turning me off from the book, will read on, but see a DNF coming.
Skimmed a few 2 star reviews, one stating, that this is an older book which was not published until now, seems to me the author has matured and this looks to me like a money grab, one more reason to DNF. But I will read on, to see how the main story starts.
