While I really liked this, I realize that I may have overrated the first Veronica Mars book. The case meanders and suspense is ok, but not great. What disturbed me, and that may also apply to the first book, that while she has doubts, there is some vigilantism (mostly by others) and rule breaking, ok, she is not police or FBI. Still, nowadays this disturbs me more than in the past. Recommended, but you should know the TV-Series and probably the first book, not that it is necessary, this can be read as a standalone, so a lot of needed information is repeated.
